Notification Actions

Overview

We can create notification actions that can trigger the following: Text Notification on Facility Monitor, Text Notification on Floor Plan Monitor, Text Notification on Administration Panel, Email Notification Message and URL GET/POST Trigger.

Create/Edit page (Email Notification Message, URL GET/POST Trigger types)

notification_actions

1.Notification Type selection: Alarm Created, Alarm Cancelled, Restricted Zone Alarm Created (Restricted Zone Entry), Restricted Zone Alarm Cancelled (Restricted Zone Exit), Low Battery on Wireless Device (Panic Alarm Low Battery)

2.Name

3.Action Type selection

4.Action, the entry field depends on the Action Type selected, i.e.: for URL GET and URL POST action type a URL to execute must be entered, for Email action type an email address must be entered, for other action types this field is not present nor valid

5.Message Type selection: Text, HTML or JSON

6.Message, filled in appropriately according to the message type selected. Patterns can be used inside the message to insert appropriate information from a Device or a Wireless Device that triggered this Notification Action, i.e.: Notification Action with Notification Type = 'Alarm Created' and Message = 'this is message for <%DeviceCode%> on floor <%Floor%>', when a Device with Code = 'ABCD' and Floor = '3' sends an Alarm event to EMS this Notification Action is executed and the message is translated to 'this is message for ABCD on floor 3'

This form is similar to the previous 'Create/Edit page (Email Notification Message, URL GET/POST Trigger types)', but here we have Action Type selected as 'Live Panel' and Action field is hidden, and Repeat Count, Repeat Cycle and Duration fields are displayed. This is the case for Action Types: Live Panel (Facility Monitor), Floor Plan, and Notification (Administration Panel).

1.Upload notifications via CSV file. The file is a bit tricky to compile, but there's an example and description in 2

2.CSV import example file with description for each possible notification type, action type and message type. Repeat count and repeat cycle are not included in the import parameters to prevent further confusion for the user, these parameters can be edited after the notification import has been processed

3.List of existing notification types
